Reaching NIIST

From Thiruvananthapuram International Airport:

You can take auto rickshaws or private taxis from the airport. For auto rickshaw, expect a ride from the airport to be about Rs. 150 -250. Make sure, before you start, that the driver agrees to use the fare meter. If he doesn’t, negotiate the price ahead of time. Often the driver will insist on extra money for luggage. Private taxis will charge as per the level of luxury. It typically takes forty five minutes to an hour to reach NIIST(depending on traffic conditions).

From Thiruvananthapuram Railway Station:

If you are reaching Thiruvananthapuram by train and if the train has a scheduled stop at Nemom Railway Station, then it is the nearest place (5 km) to get down otherwise, the train halts at Thiruvananthapuram railway station (7 km). Auto rickshaws are available from the Railway station. Expect a ride from the Thiruvananthapuram railway station to cost around Rs. 55. There is also a prepaid auto rickshaw service available .The rickshaw ride will take roughly 20-25 minutes. It is a straight road from the station to Pappanamcode Junction close to NIIST. The local city buses heading towards NIIST are also available outside the railway station if you exit from Platform No.1. Ask for the bus going to Industrial Estate.You can get down in front of NIIST. Fare is about Rs.5-6. Otherwise you can get down at Pappanamcode junction and hire an auto rickshaw, expect a ride from the junction to be about Rs. 10 -12 .

From Thiruvananthapuram Bus Station:

Thiruvananthapuram bus station is opposite to Thiruvananthapuram railway station. Take a bus to Pappanamcode or to Induatrial Estate. If you take a bus to Industrial Estate, you can get down at the bus stop in front of NIIST. Please look for the Sree Chithira Thirinnal College of Engineering on your right and the Pappanamcode Bus Depot on your left. Immediately after the depot, take a left turn on Industrial Estate road and drive ~ 1 km. It’s a straight road that leads you to NIIST. If you take a bus to Pappanamcode, get down at Pappanamcode junction and hire an an auto rickshaw, expect a ride from the junction to be about Rs. 10 -12. There is also a prepaid auto rickshaw service available from the bus station. Check with the security person on duty who will guide you to NIIST Campus gate.
